Proud to be a member of the Board of Directors of L.A. Works, Los Angeles’ largest volunteer network for community and corporate service. I was a featured speaker at our annual day of service on June 15, 2019. This year, hundreds of volunteers gathered at the first-ever Culver City “Pop-Up Service Event” to explore the issues of homelessness and income inequality through hands-on action and advocacy in Veterans Memorial Park.
In 2018, L.A. Works empowered more than 25,000 Angelenos to volunteer for a more equitable Los Angeles. We are uniquely positioned to leverage the unprecedented groundswell of public interest in volunteering and civic engagement spurred by the current political climate by organizing service projects that incorporate advocacy experiences along with the action.
